The BirthSense^® Difference

One of the reasons people enrol with BirthSense is because of our down-to-earth approach to birth and psychology. We're not into magical thinking; we prefer uncomplicated, scientific fact, and for that reason we are often asked to work closely with midwives and maternity units, and welcome many medical professionals onto our courses. We are focussed on helping women to give birth without conflict, rather than seeing the medical profession as the enemy.

There are many good practitioners outside of the BirthSense group who can offer you information on alternative therapies, and we will support you in the approach of your choice and are happy to put you in touch with such services if you require them; however at BirthSense we stick to what we know, which (as far as possible) is backed up by reliable, peer-reviewed clinical trials. This is one place where sceptics and questioning minds are positively welcomed - you may feel more at home than you imagine...

What qualifications and experience does BirthSense have?

We've taught over 600 clients, including many midwives, doctors and obstetricians. Several midwives and maternity assistants from local hospitals have chosen BirthSense to help them prepare for their own births, so you can be assured you're learning from a practitioner who is accepted and respected in local NHS units. In addition, we have become so well known in the birthing community that we've had clients who have travelled over 500 miles to attend our courses from various locations all over the UK and in Europe. We regularly present to midwife groups and birth centres, and are well-respected at hospitals in our area.

What does a course with BirthSense include?

All affiliated practitioenrs will offer you the same course presented within the same structure, but at BirthSense we believe we can offer you the following additional benefits:
