Beautiful Births
The following quotes are all answers new mums gave to the question "apart from meeting your baby, what were your most beautiful moments from labour and birth?". When you take a class with BirthSense, we'll be asking you the same question after you've giving birth and adding it to the list. We look forward to sharing your wonderful birth memories!
"With my second fast & furious labour, I'll never forget my euphoria as labour got stronger and stronger. I was on my own and bending over the sink, I actually remember looking at my own reflection in the mirror as I breathed through it thinking to myself "bring it on!". It was exciting, exhilerating and scary. Better than Alton Towers."
"I remember feeling very jealous of pregnant women when my baby was tiny, that they still had this amazing experience to come".
"I had a lovely moment about five minutes before he was born - I was leaning against the wall and a I had a sudden moment of feeling "hurrah, I am having a baby and everything is ok". It made me feel really happy and also completely confident in my body. It was great."
"The feeling of absolute euphoria when I realised it was actually going to happen; I could actually sense her whole body making its way through mine. I was totally in another place in my head, away from my body, mentally shrieking "look at me, look at me, I'm doing it!". I'd give loads to do it again. Loads."
"The first sight & feel of my son. His cross face peering at me and his hot, wet body wriggling on mine - familiar but completely new at the same time. Easily the most exhilerating moment of my life."
"What I did have for days and days after the birth were tears and reminiscing of the labour itself. I didn't want to forget any detail, I wanted it imprinted on my memory as I was so impressed my body could produce such a beautiful baby and bring him into the world."
"Lying in bed looking at her and saying out loud "we did it, you and me. We did it." I was soaring for days. Totally giddy with it."
"It was the best experience ever, and 17 weeks on I still look back on it with such great memories, even though we're now making new ones. Happy labour, girls!"
